Here is a perfectly fine
place to start.
Meet Carson
Yoga grabbed me in the middle of the city buzz, giving my mind and body some much-needed room to breathe. I’ve spent hundreds of hours on the mat, each one guiding me deeper into yoga’s calming embrace. I teach with a heart for yoga’s roots and a belief, inspired by Pema Chodron, that no matter our struggles, our inner peace remains untouched, ready to shine when we need it most.
Join me for classes that feel more like diving into yoga’s rich roots and less like just striking poses. We’ll focus on really connecting with our breath and the mindfulness that’s at the core of yoga. Let’s find your brilliant jewel of calm, together.
“Just as a jewel that has been buried in the Earth for a million years is not discolored or harmed, in the same way this noble heart is not affected by all of our kicking and screaming. The jewel can be brought out into the light at any time and it will glow as brilliantly as if nothing had ever happened.”
— Pema Chodron
Intentional Movement
-
In our practice, we'll prioritize mindfulness of our breath, using it as our guide through both calm and challenging moments. By focusing on our breathing, we'll learn to navigate through demanding poses not just with effort, but with grace and resilience. This approach helps us experience the full depth of each movement, turning physical challenges into rewarding milestones.
-
In our sessions, we'll focus significantly on drishti, the practice of directed gaze, which refines concentration and deepening our yoga practice. By directing our gaze to a fixed point, we can enhance our physical balance and mental clarity, helping us to stay centered through each pose.
-
Exploring handstands and backbends can be incredibly fulfilling but a little intimidating on your own. Mastering your own body movements really taps into a joyful, playful side. What does your body and spirit need from your practice right now? We’ll find out together.
-
Our sessions will be deeply rooted in traditional yoga teachings, connecting us with the wisdom and practices that have nurtured generations. We’ll explore the foundational principles that underpin yoga, honoring each posture and breath.
